Joel Tate, SRA, RAA
Joel G. Tate has been actively involved in the appraisal and real estate-related fields since 1997. A NC Certified Appraiser and licensed NC Real Estate broker, Joel is an SRA-designated member of the Appraisal Institute, and also holds the RAA (Residential Accredited Appraiser) designation awarded by the National Association of Realtors. Joel is also actively involved in the state chapter of the Appraisal Institute (NCAI), serving as Government Relations Chair and as an Officer and Board member on the local (Triangle) chapter. Joel is also a former delegate to the Appraisal Institute’s Leadership and Advisory Council (LDAC) in Washington, DC, a leadership and global issues forum conducted by leaders in the appraisal profession from all over the world.
In addition to providing a vast array of appraisal services and collateral risk analytics to some of the world's largest banks and best-known lending institutions, Joel has extensive experience working for high-profile clients such as the State of North Carolina, the Internal Revenue Service, the City of Raleigh, and FNMA (Fannie Mae). Legal-related valuation expertise includes pre-trial consulting for a attorneys and insurance companies, portfolio consultations for asset managers and trusts, and assisting numerous local and regional attorneys with equitable distribution proceedings, dispute resolution, builder litigation, estate settlements and expert witness testimony.
A 1995 graduate of East Carolina University with a B.A. in Political Science, Joel is a native of nearby Henderson and currently resides in Wake Forest with his wife and two children.
